Members from Freedom, Elizabethtown and Pilgrim Chapters
helped the out at the Zembo Children's Day at
the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg. Members assisted in running the
CHIP (Child
Identification Program) event held during the day.
There were about 70 children and their families were provided with
identification materials. Members from Freedom and Elizabethtown
came out to fill the morning shift, and Pilgrim handled the afternoon
shift.
Not only was this a good event for the
community but it gave all of us the opportunity to talk to many
about the
fraternity, and our DeMolay organization. Participants talked with
many parents, local business people, and area Masons who were not
yet familiar with DeMolay, and were very happy that we were there.
Of course, there were also a few prospective members --this was
a great opportunity to spread the word.
A special thanks to the members from Freedom and Elizabethtown
Chapters who traveled so far, so early in the morning. This
is truly dedication to the program. If you've ever had to get teenage
boys out to an early morning event, you know what an accomplishment
this was.
Coming in May, Pilgrim Chapter is scheduled to assist
at three more CHIP events. Congratulations to all on your committment
to this worthwhile program!
