Philadelphia Freedom!

On March 6, 2006, at the Grand Lodge building in Philadelphia, PA, Freedom Chapter visited Richard Vaux Ivanhoe Lodge No. 384 Lodge in the Egyptian Hall. After closing the lodge, Raymond G. Brown, Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 384 invited the members of Freedom Chapter to enter and then turned over gavel to Steven Walkling, Master Councilor of Freedom Chapter. Bro. Walkling proceeded to open a Freedom Chapter meeting in the DeMolay Initiatory Degree and new member Joshua Christy was made a Brother of the order before more than 40 members of the Masonic Lodge. The obligation was followed by a question and answer period where members of Lodge No. 384 asked questions of the DeMolay members about the history of DeMolay, what members like to do, the age requirements for DeMolay, and so on. This was somewhat of a historic event because as far as anyone can recall, this is the first time in a long time that a DeMolay member was made in the Grand Lodge Building. Congratulations to Joshua Christy and Steven Walkling.
