On Friday May 19,2006 Elizabethtown Chapter's Master
Councilor, Mike Brown, and Spaghetti Dinner Chairman,
Scott Smith, presented a check for $4,850.00 to The
Scottish Rite Learning Center for Children with Dyslexia. These
funds were the fruit of the Chapter's efforts and successes at fundraising
for this worthy cause.
"Dad" Willis Hackman, who has long provided
his cooking and organizational expertise to the spaghetti dinner
project, was in attendance, along with Mrs. Phyllis Stoner,
the widow of "Dad" Scott Stoner, a champion
of DeMolay and the Learning Center.
Chef Hackman was noticeably moved when the Chapter was acknowledged
by the notables in attendance, including the mayor of Lancaster,
for its tireless efforts on behalf of DeMolay's state charity.
These funds will provide one child with an entire year of tutoring.
