5-Star Event Honors 5-Star Students

On Saturday, August 19th, Pennsylvania DeMolay's Philadelphia Region 9th annual Honor Roll Challenge Dinner once again kicked off with a bang!

Picked up by a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Continental stretch limousine, five outstanding active DeMolays were treated to a night they'll never forget. The annual Honor Roll Challenge is simple. Get all A's and B's on the final report card of the year, and you qualify for a night fit for a king!

The outstanding young men who qualified this year were Chris Guenther, Joe Popoleo and Andrew Richards (Chester Pike Chapter), and Alexi Dinerstein and Julien Dinerstein (Friendship-Bray Chapter). Matt Cantz of FBC also qualified for this event, but couldn't attend due to his job responsibilities.

They were taken to the award-winning, five-star Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in center city Philadelphia. They were escorted by Advisors "Dads" Al Spina, Rick Freedman, and "Mom" Jean Richards.

At the restaurant, they were met by members of St. Alban Lodge No. 529; "Dads" Jim Clancy, WM, and Joe DiPinto, PM, Charity Committee Chairman. This incredible Lodge has sponsored the Honor Roll Challenge since 2001, three years after its inception.

They dined on perfectly prepared lobster, steak and other deliciously prepared cuisine. The desserts were even better!

The bill for this whole celebration? Well, don't even ask. Suffice to say that no expense is spared for our outstanding young students!

After dinner, the scholastic champions were chauffeured to Dave & Buster's Fun Center in Philadelphia, PA for some time to work off their meals and challenging fun time!

It was an awesome night of friendship, brotherhood, laughs, fun, and many congratulations given for jobs very well done. The Chapters of Pennsylvania DeMolay's Philadelphia Region look forward to next year's 2007 Honor Roll Challenge in it's 10th Anniversary year! Many thanks once again to St. Alban Lodge for sponsoring this outstanding challenge!
