On February 6th, 2007, at the monthly borough meeting in Christiana PA, members of Freedom Chapter accepted a Proclamation from the Mayor of Christiana, Brian Fox,  proclaiming March as "DeMolay Month".  Tyler Berwanger, Junior Councilor, in the presence of members Matt Gagnon, Justin Berwanger, Charles "CJ" Blair, Ehab Masri, and Ben Davis, accepted the proclamation on behalf of the Chapter. "This was really nice," said Tyler Berwanger, "the Mayor stood in front of the meeting, read the proclamation aloud, and then came over and shook our hands." "Everyone was so nice", said Justin Berwanger, "they were smiling and complementing us. It made me feel good."

For accepting the Proclamation, Freedom Chapter will receive 10 points for participating in the "DeMolay Month 88th Award of Excellence" program. However this is not about points or scurrying around collecting pieces of paper. Its about the personal reward and satisfaction Chapter members get when they understand their efforts are being noticed and appreciated by others.
