On April 10th, Freedom Chapter visited one of its sponsors, Washington Lodge #156 in Quarryville.
Bro. Mark Daniels, W.M. of Washington Lodge, turned the gavel over to M.C. Robert Walkling to begin the presentation. The members of Freedom Chapter performed an exemplification of the opening and closing of the Chapter and the obligation for the Initiatory Degree. This was the first opportunity the members of the Chapter had to perform an exemplification before the members of Washington Lodge since the creation of the Chapter in 2005. The performance was near perfect as the members practiced and rehearsed on the stairway before entering the Lodge room.
The presentation was followed by a short Q&A session where
the members of the Lodge asked questions about DeMolay and Freedom
Chapter. Members of the Lodge were deeply impressed
by the amount of community and Masonic service the Chapter has performed
in its two year history, its involvement with the CHIP program,
and other charitable donations. Afterwards, the members of
Freedom Chapter were invited to stay and
hear a short talk on the future of Freemasonry given by Bro.
James B. LeFever, P.M. of Washington Lodge.
Bro. LeFever complemented the Chapter and noted,
"The future of the fraternity and community looks brighter
given the performance we observed here tonight by these young men."
