It started with lots of DeMolays, advisors, parents, friends and local Masons pitching in to help Pilgrim Chapter with it's annual peanut brittle fundraiser. Making brittle is no small task, and it takes a small army to make this fundraiser a success. Participants spent all day stirring pots of sweet gooey peanuts until just they reached just the right temperature and color. The work was tough, but the brittle was fabulous, and sold out quickly!

This year the work was a little different though. The DeMolays and advisors present knew that they needed to do something a little extra with their fundraising profits. After some discussion the Chapter members decided to donate a portion of the proceeds to the 32 Degree Masonic Learning Center in Harrisburg.

So at their last meeting of 2009 members presented "Dad" Alan Longnaker, Chairman of the Board for the Harrisburg Learning Center with a gift card to be used for supplies and other needs of the students.
