On January 20th, 2010, Right Worshipful Grand Master Thomas K. Sturgeon came to Harrisburg to talk to the members of Masonic Districts 2 and 3 regarding his new Renaissance Program. Included in the audience were members and parents from Rainbow, Job's Daughter and DeMolay.
The Grand Master spoke of the importance of the Youth Programs and how they support the lodges in the District. He also spoke about the implementation of a new Grand Lodge Assessment that will go directly to the various youth programs as incentive grants. The Grand Master has asked every lodge to become more involved in public service. To aid in this mission Pilgrim Chapter Master Councilor Matt Skinner has proposed a jointly run canned food drive that will benefit the Central Penn Food Bank and the hundreds of hungry people in the Harrisburg area. This is one more way Masons and Youth are working together to support the GM and help needy people in the community.
After the event the members of Pilgrim Chapter assisted with refreshments and posed for a picture with the Grand Master and DDGM Scott T. Matincheck.
