Honors Forms—Online!
Please remember that your Chapter’s Honors Nominations are due to your Deputy Executive Officer by December 15, 2011. Nominations must be typed and thoroughly completed. The forms are posted on the PA DeMolay Webpage at: http://www.pademolay.org/resources/pdf/HonorsPacket2012.pdf
Representative DeMolay Award Divisions
Since announcing the changes to the RD Program, we have had no submissions! Please encourage your members to complete this for their first time...or a second time...or a third time. The age divisions are 12-14; 15-17; and 18-20. Remember, every DeMolay completing the form will be considered for competition in the RD of the Year Competition, and the winner in each age bracket will receive a check for $100.00. The RD Program & RD of the Year Program is sponsored by Perseverance Lodge No. 21 of Harrisburg.
Add Youth Pro to Term Planning
As your Senior Councilors plan their terms please be sure that they include the Youth Protection Program during their term. If it’s a date on the Chapter’s formal calendar of events it will be more easily remembered. You should do this for your Advisory Council Meetings, too.
Form 11’s - Here’s Why They’re Important:
Is the filing of a Form 11, reporting the new officers of a chapter, really important? Yes it is! Not only does it enable PA DeMolay to keep an accurate record of the elected leaders of the Chapters, but it also promotes the PMC-MSA program, which helps emphasize the importance of term planning and efficiency within the Chapters.
Once a Form 11 is received, the new Junior and Senior Councilor are sent a congratulatory letter from “Dad” Tom Labagh, Executive Officer. In the letter, he encourages the new Councilors to start planning their term immediately following the guidelines of the Past Master Councilor’s-Meritorious Service Award. Recently these letters went out to the councilors of Erie Chapter, and taking the encouragement of “Dad” Labagh seriously, Senior Councilor Adam Cline immediately sought the help of his advisors. He has
completed planning his term and will be installed next March.
Executive Secretary Vacation Pending
“Dad” Dave Berry will be on vacation from Tuesday, December 13 through Monday, December 26th; attending the Annual Grand Lodge Communication in Hershey on December 27th; and back to the office on Wednesday, December 28th. He will be checking e-mails periodically during those two weeks.
