"Hey!
Why isn't my Chapter's latest news posted on pademolay.org?"
Good question!
Usual answer?
YOU DIDN'T
SEND IT TO US!!!
We're always happy to have your
news items and photos to share with all of PA DeMolay. A few Chapters
send us stuff all the time, and when we post it, it ends up looking
like we pay more attention to them than anybody else... NOT
TRUE! We just can't read minds... we know you're all doing
exciting stuff out there. So tell us about it, and send us pictures!
We'll make sure all of PA DeMolay and the entire world-wide-web
audience knows all about you and how great your Chapter is! Here's
what to do:
1. Assign a member or advisor
to be your "correspondent" --that way, you always know
who is responsible to report your news to PA DeMolay.
2. Make sure somebody takes
pictures at your event. Action photos, candids, and "mugs"
are preferred to posed shots, but it never hurts to have a group
picture or two, as well. Please note: Web stories without pictures
are BORING --to be honest, we usually won't publish them,
unless they're really good stuff ... so SEND PICS!

Web Pic Tips...
- If you can send us digital pictures, so much the
better. If not, you can snail mail prints to us, with
a return envelope. We'll scan them and mail them back.
Mail them to PA DeMolay; 1244 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown,
PA 17022
- Use higher resolution pictures wherever possible.
200 or 300 dpi are best. DON'T CROP the photos...
let us do the resizing, cropping, and quality adjustments.
- If you are e-mailing pics, please "zip"
them into sets of 4 or 5, using WinZip or a similar
utility. Attach each zip file to a separate e-mail,
and note how many e-mails you are sending.
- Don't send us anything you don't want us to use.
If you send an embarassing picture of Bob, and Bob
gets mad at us, we're just gonna send him back to
beat YOU up. It's not our problem.

3. E-mail your story to the Webmaster.
If you're not comfortable with your journalistic skills, you can
just send a list of the facts of the story, and we'll write it for
you. If you send us a "publication ready" article, we'll
credit you as the author on the site.

Web Story Tips...
- Please e-mail stories. That way, we don't have to
retype.
- Stories don't need to be long... 50-100 words is
plenty. Most people won't stop to read a long story.
- Please check the spelling on all names and places...
we won't know if they're right or wrong.
- Be sure to include dates, locations, and participants
names, where applicable. How many people participated?
How much money was raised? What was the event for?
What distinguished guests were there? What were the
highlights?
- Include quotes from participants, where possible.
- Mention plans for repeat events or other related
items.
- Don't forget to put your name on it, so we can credit
you.

4. Watch for your story here on pademolay.org.
If your story doesn't appear in 2 or 3 days, something is wrong.
Most likely, it's one of the following:

Trouble-shooting tips...
- Your story never arrived. E-mail us to confirm,
then send it again.
- The webmaster is swamped. E-mail us to confirm,
and be patient.
- The webmaster is out of town. E-mail us, but we
won't e-mail you back, cause we're out of town.
- The webmaster is out of his mind. Nothing you can
do about this.
- The webmaster has fallen, and cannot reach his keyboard.
Call the PA DeMolay office, and ask someone to prop
him back up.
