Meet Mike Vitelli,
of Jenkintown, PA. (Wait, his name's Mike? Well, everybody knows
him as "Curley", so let's stick with that.) But let
the record show that, in spite of his nickname, he's no Stooge!
And, in spite of the date of this spotlight, he's nobody's fool.
What he is is
a valuable part of Friendship-Bray Chapter, where he's been a member
for 2 and a half years and is currently Senior Deacon. At 16, he's
a sophomore at Upper Moreland High School, where he plays both football
and hockey, and is on the track team as well. He's on the grounds
crew for Upper Moreland Little league and likes hanging out with
his friends, watching Martin Lawrence, and listening to Led Zeppelin.
Somewhere in there, he finds time to be at just about everything
his Chapter ever does!
Mike joined
DeMolay to have a place to go, and to help him through some rough
times. Besides, he knew it was a place to make great friends. Curley
is proud of his involvement in DeMolay, and we're proud to call
him one of our own.
He's hoping
to be a state officer some day, and he's currently working toward
being state champ in the "Mag 7" (that's short for Magnificent
Seven, a ritual competition in performing all seven Preceptor parts
from the Initiatory Degree). Do we think he'll do well?
