Guild
of the Leather Apron
|
 |
The
Guild of the Leather Apron, also known as the Advisor of the Year
Award, is designed to give singular recognition to a DeMolay Advisor
who in the past year has made outstanding contributions to the growth
and success of the Order of DeMolay, especially within a local Chapter.
The
honor may be conferred upon any DeMolay Advisor, regardless of Masonic
affiliation.
The
following have been honored with the Guild of the Leather Apron
in Pennsylvania:

Guild Recipient
"Dad" Ken Walkling,
Freedom Chapter |
| |
 |
 |
“Dad” Walkling took the DeMolay World by storm in 2005 when he and his sons, members of Northeast Chapter in Philadelphia, realized that there was a need for a DeMolay Chapter in the southern part of Lancaster County where they had property that they frequented in escaping the hustle and bustle of the City of Brotherly Love. By May of 2005 he had organized a group of men and women to be advisors, secured the sponsorship of two Lodges and Freedom Chapter was born! In two short years the Chapter has grown and thrived with an impressive mix of community service activities, Masonic service projects, support of the Scottish Rite Learning Centers, and membership recruitment and retention techniques that have been recognized statewide as innovative and effective. |
