| PA DeMolay - Bearers of the Fez |
In the fall of 2010, "Dad" Seth Anthony's obsession with fezzes was reaching new highs. He had grown to love those funny little hats and wanted to share his enthusiasm with others. For a long time he had wanted to create a new PA DeMolay fez to be sold to members, but the plans just never fell into place. Then, on a fateful day, he connected with the fine folks over at Fez-o-rama, a California based company that specials in velvety haberdashery.
After working on the design for almost a month, the debate was settled, and a version of the DeMolay emblem from the 1920's was set as the centerpiece of the new fezzes. The hats went on sale in October of 2010, with the final order being placed in November. |

The fezzes originally sold for $100, but after some financial ju-ju the final cost was lowered to $75; this was still a hefty sum for a hat, though!
Soon, it was realized that others shared "Dad" Anthony's love of fezzes and a total of 9 fezzes were ordered. Of those nine, one was done in purple velvet (instead of the blue used for all the others) and was designated for "Dad" Anthony, the Grand Fez. Another was assigned for permanent display in Memorial Hall, at Patton Campus. This means that there are only 7 other "Bearers of the Fez," and PA DeMolay has created this webpage to highlight those who's love for DeMolay goes even to the point of wearing a goofy hat.
